Hold on to Hope

When facing massive difficulties in life, do you ever struggle with the thought that you know God can do anything, yet you cannot understand why He is not intervening in your life to stop the difficulties? This can be a problem with yourself, with your children, with your husband/wife, boyfriend, girlfriend, or close friend, there are no limits. Sometimes these problems turn our worlds upside down. They make you feel that you can't breath and you certainly can't think of anything else other than what's going on. When you go out, you see all of these normal people having normal days, smiling, laughing and you think, "How can they be so happy when our world is turning upside down?"

You are trying to hang on to hope, because hope is all you have left. But the longer time goes without any changes in your situation, the harder it is and the more dismal hope seems. Then, we think that if God won't intervene the moment we want Him to, then we have to try to fix things ourselves. That is when things usually take a turn for the worst.

You see, we don't have to know God's plan, to trust there is a plan.We don't have to have good feelings to be able to trust that good is coming. We don't have to see evidence of changes to trust that it won't always be this hard.

Lately, I've literally had to close my physical eyes, tune everything else out, and turn my thoughts to Jesus.  By coming to the realization and accepting that you are not in control, but God is, it becomes easier to open your heart and mind to new possibilities. Say His name over and over and over; know that we can trust our Father’s heart and His plans.

Let's take it to GOD!!

Father God, You keep showing me that I don’t need all of the answers. I need Jesus. Help me stop the craziness of my own assumptions of how things should turn out. My soul was made for assurance in You alone, and that is exactly what You have given me. The divine assurance of Your Son. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
