Well, HELLO!!!!!

Welcome to Smallest Victories Magazine, an online Christian publication that posts articles of faith and inspiration.

Sometimes it's the little things in life that create the biggest impact. Rejoice in even the smallest victories!! If we only wait for an "ah-ha" moment or a mountaintop experience, we will miss so many of the perfect blessings God puts in our path every day.

Meet our Editor in Chief, Diane Alvarado

You are Editor and Chief of Smallest Victories, which must keep you extremely busy. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

Of course. First I'd like to welcome everyone to Smallest Victories. My name is Diane and I've been married to my handsome husband for 34 years and together we've raised two amazing sons that we are very proud of. More so, we are absolutely blessed with two beautiful grandchildren.  I love my family with all of my heart. In our down time, we love to go camping! We love video games, creating music, art and writing. We also love to cook and bake together and most important of all, spend time in the Word. Our life is very ordinary.

Sounds like you have many ways to keep busy! You mentioned creating music. Do you play an instrument?

I do. I play the piano. My deservingly retired  husband  likes to play the drums.  We like to play Worship,  Christmas jazz, country, and 70s and 80s music. We also like creating our own music. It's a huge part of our lives and performing together is  something we truly enjoy.

What is your vision as Editor and Chief of Smallest Victories?

My hope is that our experiences, stories, and faith will inspire you to find balance and joy in the incredibly fast paced moments of life as well as savoring the still moments. It's all about having faith. Not just any faith, but faith beyond our circumstances.

And how do you think an online magazine can accomplish that?

Life is uncertain and brings many ups and downs. One thing I am confident to be true in every circumstance.....God is in control and nothing is too big for Him to handle. Between my many years of marriage, raising a family, and my careers (both as a nurse as well as my current position at a University), I've seen and experienced many crossroads life has brought. Using these experiences, I started writing devotionals, which grew bigger and soon turned into Smallest Victories Magazine.

So, your intention is to use your life experiences  to help people?

Absolutely. My intention is to not only to share about the intersections of life,  but to build and retain a rock-solid faith in extremely trying times. It's all about teaching how to appreciate the sacredness of an ordinary life and how to turn your trials into something good, no matter what the circumstance is.

So, Smallest Victories is a safe haven, so to speak? Is that what appealed to you to become a writer?

Safe haven? Absolutely.  It can be a safe haven to anyone who visits the site. Throughout my life, writing and music have always been an outlet, or a safe haven for me. Particularly in the year 2020, being one of the hardest for us for many reasons 'other than the virus'.    This is where Smallest Victories  was born. In the midst of this pandemic and in the middle of absolute chaos and heartbreak, God brought light.

All in all, why should people read  articles posted in Smallest Victories?

It is my desire is to write down my thoughts and experiences and apply them to today's way of living. To my way of living... in faith and hope.  The best way I know how to do that is through sharing.

You mentioned before we started that you accept articles from aspiring writers. How can someone send you a pitch for an article?

Absolutely! I welcome aspiring writers to submit their articles for review to smallestvictories@gmail.com. In the heading, please state "Pitch for article". We do receive them and read every one. Yours just may be chosen to publish!

If you could say anything to your readers right now, what would it be?

Welcome to Smallest Victories! Scroll down and read any of the articles below that are calling out to you. Hope is where healing is found, and hope starts right now.

I'm so glad you're here.

Diane
