Conquer Failure and Rebuke Fear

I've always admired those who aren't afraid to fail.

You know, those who face a setback, but see it as another goal to conquer. People, who don't think of it as defeat when they miss the mark.

I strive to be that kind of person. I use to be that person. I use to see the silver lining in everything. But in reality, I haven't been all that courageous lately. Especially in the grip of failure. Failing is painful, embarrassing and it can make a person want to give up, mainly on themselves.

God is patiently teaching me these days to not fear failure.

This week, He's been challenging me to remind myself that I am a work in progress and to keep taking steps forward when setback rears it's ugly head. He is reminding me that I am His child who is becoming all He created me to be.

I am His child who is growing. Yes, even at 55 years old.

I am His child who is not perfect.

I am His child who is valued.

I am His child who needs to be NOT afraid, but who tries to surrender to our Father's perfect love and power at work in her.

Every time I fail to be the woman God calls me to be, or the woman I expect myself to be, God gently reminds me of the progress I've already made.

So even though I may not yet be the woman I want to be, I'm not the woman I was yesterday, or the day before that. And I get that much closer to who I am meant to be every time I conquer failure and rebuke fear.
